Overview

One of the most desirable E46 M3 configurations.

This is a 2005 BMW M3 (E46) equipped with the factory Competition Package — the coveted ZCP — paired with the 6-speed manual gearbox and the rare slicktop (no moonroof) layout that purists and track-day drivers seek out.

Power comes from BMW's legendary 3.2-liter S54 inline-six. The ZCP package adds the factory 19-inch forged wheels (correct ZCP rears and ZZCP fronts), a quicker steering rack, M-track mode, and unique aero and trim details that set the Competition Package apart from a standard M3.

Beyond the factory specification, the car has been carefully maintained and upgraded with quality, reversible parts from respected names like Dinan, Turner Motorsport, Bilstein, and Fabspeed. Critically, the VANOS unit has been bulletproofed and the rear subframe and floor have been reinforced — addressing the two items every knowledgeable E46 M3 buyer asks about first.

The result is a clean, low-mileage, sorted example that's ready to be driven and enjoyed.

History & Repair Disclosure

This vehicle has a clean CARFAX. In the interest of full transparency, its history is disclosed below.

Under prior ownership, the car spun at Watkins Glen and contacted a wall, damaging the passenger-side (front right) front panel. Wile Motorsport of Walpole, Massachusetts purchased the vehicle and took possession immediately afterward, then carried out a full, factory-focused repair:

  • The front right frame rail was replaced from the firewall forward.
  • The work was performed meticulously over a period of months, with the goal of returning the car to factory specification and preserving this rare, packaged example.
  • The small details were honored — down to factory-correct seam sealer — and factory-spec geometry and structural rigidity were restored.

Interested parties are encouraged to (i) speak directly with Jake Wile at Wile Motorsport to learn more about the quality of the repair and his experience in metal craft, and (ii) perform a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) to independently validate the same. Inquire for contact details.
